Our Technique

Ballet
The ballet curriculum is based upon the Vaganova Syllabus developed in Russia. Created in the 1940's by Agripina Vaganova, a Russian Prima Ballerina and noted teacher, the Vaganova Syllabus is responsible for producing some of the greatest dancers of all time. It is a beautifully designed progressive approach to developing dancers. Each year carefully builds upon the material of the one before, thereby developing dancers who are strong technically and musically.

Modern Dance
The modern dance curriculum combines several great modern dance techniques to produce a progression of technique that is both successful and very engaging for the dancers.

Creative Movement
Creative Movement for very young children, ages 4-6 years, develops a sense of musicality, coordination and fitness. Children explore the use of the body as an instrument of expression and creativity.

Jazz
Arising from the African American heritage in the late 1800's and early 1900's, jazz is a form of dance taught so that a student's individual style and originality are encouraged. Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. In order to excel students need a strong background in ballet, as it develops the grace, balance and discipline so essential to jazz.

Pilates
A contemporary approach to the mind-body exercise method pioneered by Joseph Pilates. It is one of the safest and most effective exercise methods available. The perfect complement to cardiovascular exercise, athletic training or rehabilitation. Pilates will leave you looking toned, feeling revitalized and moving with ease.
